At the heart of Dubai’s Earth Day celebrations, Recall FZCO officially launched its sustainability platform—ushering in a bold new chapter for eco-conscious living in the region. Founded by Ajmal Mohamed Ashraf, along with co-founders Shamlal Thachileri and Rayhan Razak, Recall is designed to make sustainability accessible, trackable, and rewarding for everyone.
“We’re not here to create noise,” said Ajmal, addressing a packed auditorium. “We’re here to build something that lasts—something that genuinely makes it easier for people to do the right thing.” Ajmal’s journey—from idea to execution—stood as a powerful reminder of what persistence and purpose can achieve.
A Platform With Purpose
Recall’s AI-powered smart bins connect to a mobile app that rewards users with “Recoins” for proper disposal of recyclables. These points can be redeemed for eco-friendly products on Recall’s Webstore, creating real incentive for behaviour change. Already, Recall has formed five strategic collaborations across packaging, e-waste, sustainable fashion, corporate offices, and education, signalling that while this is a beginning, it’s a strong one.
The People Driving the Movement
Siyyam Malik, Recall’s Chief Sustainability Officer, took the stage to outline his role in spearheading the Recall Alliance—a corporate membership program that enables businesses to track, scale, and showcase their sustainability efforts. With a background in ESG systems from Scandinavia, Siyyam brings depth and clarity to Recall’s corporate vision. “It’s not about checking boxes. It’s about enabling real impact, backed by data and driven by community,” he shared.
