CIBSE MENA’s 2026 Events Bring Together the Region’s Built Environment Community
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

CIBSE MENA is set to deliver a diverse programme of events in 2026, bringing together professionals, industry leaders, policymakers, academics and emerging talent from across the Middle East and North Africa.

The programme will explore some of the key challenges and opportunities shaping the future of the built environment, from delivering net-zero buildings and transforming existing building stock to recognising engineering excellence and inspiring the next generation of industry professionals.

Through conferences, awards and student initiatives, CIBSE MENA is creating opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing and industry engagement across the region.

Delivering Net Zero in Practice

The CIBSE MENA Decarbonisation Conference 2026, taking place on 27 October in Dubai, will focus on delivering measurable, investable and resilient net-zero buildings for the Middle East.

The conference will bring together government and industry voices to examine how regional climate and sustainability ambitions can translate into practical action.

Sessions will explore net zero as an asset strategy, high-performance buildings, cooling and resilience, whole-life carbon, circularity, digital decarbonisation, AI and data, data centres and other high-growth sectors.

The event will also provide opportunities for attendees to connect with challenge owners, explore technical and commercial solutions and discover new approaches through the Decarbonisation Marketplace.

Celebrating Excellence at the CIBSE MENA Awards

The CIBSE MENA Awards 2026, taking place on 29 October at the W Hotel, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, will recognise outstanding engineers, projects, companies and innovations from across the region.

Formerly known as the CIBSE UAE Annual Awards, the revitalised awards programme celebrates achievements in building engineering while highlighting progress across sustainability, safety, performance and innovation.

With table bookings and sponsorship opportunities available, the awards offer organisations an opportunity to celebrate industry achievements while connecting with professionals, businesses and key stakeholders from across the MENA region.

Transforming Existing Buildings

On 25 November in Dubai, the CIBSE MENA Retrofit Conference 2026 will focus on transforming existing buildings for a net-zero future.

The one-day conference will bring together industry leaders, policymakers and innovators to explore practical pathways for decarbonising existing building stock.

Through expert discussions, case studies and networking opportunities, the event will examine how existing buildings can be adapted to meet evolving energy, carbon and performance requirements while supporting the region’s wider sustainability ambitions.

Inspiring the Next Generation

The CIBSE MENA Student Design Competition 2026 is challenging the next generation of engineers, architects and sustainability professionals to look beyond individual buildings and consider how entire neighbourhoods and districts can become connected, resilient and future-ready.

Under the theme “Integrated Lifestyle Communities – Engineering Net Zero Districts by 2050”, students are exploring how energy, water, mobility, digital infrastructure, carbon, health and wellbeing can work together to create future-ready communities across the MENA region.

The competition provides students with an opportunity to apply engineering and design thinking to complex real-world challenges while contributing fresh perspectives to the future of the built environment.

Get Involved

Across its 2026 programme, CIBSE MENA is creating multiple opportunities for organisations to engage with the region’s professional community through attending, exhibiting, sponsoring, sharing expertise and supporting future talent.

Sponsorship and partnership opportunities can provide organisations with a platform to showcase their expertise, connect with industry stakeholders, demonstrate their commitment to sustainability and professional development, and support initiatives shaping the future of the region’s built environment.

Whether you are an engineer, consultant, developer, policymaker, manufacturer, technology provider, academic institution or industry partner, there are opportunities to participate and contribute to the conversation.

For more information about upcoming CIBSE MENA events, sponsorship and partnership opportunities, download the sponsorship brochure covering the awards and events in the MENA region or contact [email protected].
